ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Information on accessibility
Emtrada GmbH (Emtrada) (formerly OOKA GmbH) is committed to digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Therefore, Emtrada continuously improves the user experience on its website and implements the requirements of the Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act) and its national implementations (the German Accessibility Improvement Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz – BFSG) and the Regulation on the Accessibility Improvement Act (Verordnung zum Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz – BFSGV)).
A. General Description of the service
Emtrada operates an online shop at the website “https://de.ooka.com/de”, where customers can purchase electronic shishas and accessories from various brands (e.g. OOKA, AL FAKHER, SHISHA KARTEL, 187 STRASSENBANDE, ZODIAC) and have them delivered. Further, customers can find comprehensive information about the products offered.
Consumer information in accordance with Article 246 of the German Introductory Act to the German Civil Code (EGBGB), e.g., information on the essential characteristics of the goods, our identity, the total price of the goods (including any additional freight, delivery, or shipping costs), payment, delivery and performance conditions, the date by which we have committed to deliver the goods, and the existence of a statutory warranty for defects) can be found in our Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), which are available on our website and will be provided to you upon conclusion of contracts or will be provided during contract initiation and before contract conclusion.
B. Descriptions and explanations of the operation of the service
Via the website „ https://de.ooka.com/de “ customers aged 18 and over can:
- - Access information about goods available for purchase;
- - learn about the differences between traditional shishas and OOKA’s electronic shishas;
- - use digital services such as contact forms;
- - access promotions and discounts.
C. Description of how the relevant accessibility requirements are met by the service
The site is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA. Automated Remediation Technology (ART) has resolved the majority of issues, but some manual issues remain under review.
I. Perceivable
To enhance the perception of content on our website, we have implemented the following measures:
- - All functional images have alternative text;
- - Text can be enlarged up to 200% without loss of content or functionality;
- - Color contrast meets WCAG guidelines.
- - Images have alternative text descriptions unless they are purely decorative and their content is already provided in the text.
II. Operable
Our service is designed to be user-friendly, ensuring ease of operation:
- - Emtrada avoids design elements that could trigger seizures or physical reactions, such as flashing or blinking elements.
- - Full keyboard navigation is supported, with skip links and visible focus indicators added sitewide.
III. Understandable
To ensure the understandability of our service, the following features, among others, are available to you:
- - All forms include labels and clear error messages;
- - Navigation and page structure are consistent.
IV. Robust
The website is robust, meaning compatibility with various assistive technologies is ensured.
- - Screen reader support improved through remediation of missing lang attributes, alt text, and form labels.
- - Heading hierarchy – A single <h1> per page and corrected heading structure implemented across all pages (804 desktop and 600 mobile pages updated).
- - Language attributes – lang attributes added to all pages to ensure proper screen reader interpretation.
- - Keyboard navigation aids – Skip links introduced (220 desktop and 103 mobile instances remediated), improving navigation for keyboard and assistive technology users.
- - Note: Some manual issues, such as duplicate IDs and focusable elements within aria-hidden containers, remain under review.
Non-accessible content
Despite significant remediation efforts, some accessibility barriers remain:
Checkout and interactive components – Certain elements may not yet be fully optimized for screen reader users due to duplicate IDs and focusable elements within aria-hidden containers (manual remediation required).
Keyboard and focus handling – While skip links and visible focus indicators have been added sitewide, a manual review is ongoing to ensure consistent behavior across all dynamic components.
Legacy content verification – All previously identified missing or empty image alt attributes have been corrected through automated remediation; however, a manual review is ongoing to confirm full accuracy across older content.
These remaining issues are under review and will be addressed in upcoming updates.
Browser and assistive technology compatibility
This website is designed to be compatible with the following browsers:
- - Google Chrome
- - Mozilla Firefox
- - Safari
- - Opera
- - IOS
- - Android
The following technologies are required to access the website:
- - HTML & CSS – Required for basic page structure and styling.
- - JavaScript – Confirmed by the UserWay reports (it scans dynamic elements, and issues like skip links, aria attributes, and heading hierarchies are JavaScript-rendered). Many interactive elements (cart, checkout, accessibility widget) will not function without it.
